Somewhere Just Above Average: Best Halloween Costumes 2016

Hey guys! I'm guest posting today from my blog Somewhere Just Above Average! I post every Wednesday and Saturday so please come and follow my blog for the best advice, fashion, music, media and just my opinion on topics!

It's finally October! My favorite time of the year! Which means Halloween is right around the corner! As you might be able to tell, Halloween is my favorite holiday! I love all things spooky and scary! Plus free candy and costumes! How could you not like Halloween?

But if your having trouble this year picking out you're costume then here are 5 choices to think about down below!

1. Disney: Maleficent and Gaston

Disney characters are probably the most fun to dress up as! But everyone does the same old princesses and princes... so dress up as Disney villains for a change!

Gaston is a great character for guys who have a nice body. All you need is a black wig, red shirt and green pants and there you go! (It would also help to have a fake gun and maybe a beer bottle) and who knows maybe you will find you're Belle this Halloween night!

Maleficent is the queen of all the Disney Villains! So it only suits that you dress up like her ladies. Black horns, a long black robe and a matching staff, who wouldn't want to be the sassy, powerful and beautiful Maleficent?!

2. Celebrity: Kylie Jenner and Harry Styles

For those of you who like to dress up like celebrities, might I suggest Kylie Jenner and Harry Styles? Kylie Jenner is queen of fashion with her makeup line and stylish fashion tips while Harry Styles is the cute British boy taking a break from the music world to join a career in acting. Both are very successful in their careers and are two of the hottest young celebrities in pop culture right now so why not dress up like them? Just pick your favorite Kylie and Harry phase and have fun impersonating them. Who knows? Maybe people will actually believe you're really them!

3. DIY: Starbucks Coffee Cup? Flander from Simpsons?

Being creative is what makes Halloween fun! Always trying to think outside of the box to create a costume that no one else would have or simply trying to create a costume out of household items. Ever thought of being a Starbucks coffee cup? Very simple to do and can look great if done correctly. But what about Flander from the Simpsons? All you need is yellow face paint, a fake mustache and the right hairstyle and I'm sure you will get some good laughs throughout the night.

4. Group: Wizard of Oz

Group costumes to me are the most fun! Just having a bunch of people commit to something is exciting because the results are always amazing. An old classic Halloween group costume that never goes out of style is the Wizard of Oz! Depending on how big your group is, you can substitute many different characters like Dorthy, Tinman, Lion, Scarecrow, Glinda, Witch of the West, Flying Monkey's, the Wizard of Oz, and even the little munchkin people! But don't forget Todo!

5. Most Popular: Harley Quinn and the Joker

Last but not least let me introduce the King and Queen of Gotham City! The Joker and Harley Quinn! Since the popular movie Suicide Squad premiered early this August, these two characters are surely going to be the most dressed up characters of the year. (Especially Harley Quinn...) So why not join the craze!

Well that's it! I hope everyone is just as excited for Halloween this year as me! It kind of sucks because it's on a Monday this year but I guess that's okay... Of course if you're grown up like me (meaning trick or treating is off limits...) show off your costumes at some fun Halloween Parties this year! (Halloween Parties are better than trick or treating anyway... especially when people wear the sexy versions of costumes...) But I do advise you to watch out for clowns. This year is not the year to dress up or trust clowns for the matter... you never know if they're going to give you candy or stab you in the chest so I would just avoid them altogether... #clownsightings
